Mums On a Mission is a not-for-profit organisation, set up and run by mothers with lived experience of severe hardship and social exclusion. We started our peer advocacy and outreach in 2017, with 4 mums. Incorporated in 2018, started our youth intervention in our libraries to reduce knife crime and anti-social behavior through boxfit, music and introduction to enterprise by the end 2018 we had reached and supported over 100 families in our borough.
The programmes that we offer give people the chance to grow, expand their horizons, and become agents of change in their own community. We focus on empowering and enhancing the lives of those people most isolated and vulnerable, building their confidence and helping them to learn new skills, so that they may fully live their lives and become a part of their community.
"We absolutley love training at the centre. Very clean, very spacious and amazing facilities. We are looked after by the owners of the centre and our personal needs were tailored to. Out of the way so it's perfect - we don't need to worry about making noise or outside noise disturbing us, so it works out perfectly for us. You'll certianly have us many more times in the near future. Thank you!"
